Let’s make it all about me

  • I was born on October 17th, 1986 in St. Francis hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I think that’s really the point in which my life started going downhill. I moved with my mother to a little town called Springfield, Ohio at a young age, trading one midwestern venue for another. Growing up I shared a household with two of my brothers and my mom. Life was always challenging, but we made do. I went to a Catholic school by the name Holy Trinity (kind of intense now that I think about it) and from there went on to Catholic Central High School (who named these places?). I had the honor of leaving private catholic school and transferring to public my sophmore year, and haven’t read the bible since.

I was your pretty average class clown from a lower class upbringing who deviated from organized religion. I tried a myriad of hobbies into my teen years. I played soccer, was on the swim team, chess team, High-Q (think teen jeopardy), took Kenpo and played in Magic the Gathering tournaments on the weekends. Pretty much a teen hearthrob.

  • After highschool I was what a certain therapist would describe as “aimless”. I really had no idea what to do with my life. I had a friend who decided to join the Army reserves, and after completing basic and AIT he came back to town with an entirely different outlook on life. Seeing this completely changed human being I decided to follow suite. I had a child on the way and no other real path to take so I decided to sign my life away to the government and enlisted in the United States Army on September 11th, 2007.

I enlisted as a 94F, Computer Detection Systems Repair. Although any enlisted soldier can tell you that you don’t really get to decide your career, the Army decides for you. I had my normal role as the “IT guy” for sure, but I also served as a weapons trainer, mortuary affairs, convoy security, and all around loveable goof. After six years and two deployments overseas I decided to try my luck with all of that “freedom” civilians talk about so much. I came back home early in 2013.

  • I’m currently finishing up my New Media degree at Clark State, and afterwards plan on celebrating by hitting the road, hard. You can usually catch me on different comedy shows all across the western-southern-middle areas of Ohio. I’ve also done shows in Indianna, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Georgia, Florida, and I’ve performed at The Savanah Comedy Festival and Dayton’s own FuseFest. I also host my own open mic right here in Springfield at The Market Bar, every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month. Of anything I’ve done with my life, I find comedy to be the most fulfilling. I cannot wait to see where it takes me.
